The collaboration between Chess.com and Playwire provides access to previously untapped brands and media agencies for both companies

Chess.com, the #1 online chess company and one of the leading websites for gaming, and Playwire, a global technology company specializing in revenue amplification for publishers and content creators, have announced their exclusive digital advertising partnership.

The partnership expands Playwire’s presence in the gaming industry and gives brands exposure to over 40 million worldwide and over 2.3 billion impressions each month. Through this new deal, Playwire will bring additional value to media buyers while Chess.com gains access to highly relevant brands in the gaming and advertising space.

“Chess.com is a major player in the online gaming industry and a great opportunity for the advertisers we work with in the gaming niche,” stated Anthony Berrena, SVP of Global Revenue at Playwire. “We’re excited to be expanding the size and diversity of the gaming audience that our partners have access to within our growing media portfolio.”

Along with lessons from top chess players, an active forum, and chess-related news, the Chess.com website hosts more than five million chess games every day. The company also has users across its website, social media, and broadcasting sites like Twitch that regularly engage with its content. Monetizing this user base requires sourcing advertising partners at a large scale through a platform like Playwire.

Brenan Klain, COO of Chess.com commented: “This new partnership aligns with our efforts to grow sponsorships and reach additional brands within the gaming industry. Playwire will be a tremendous help as we continue to secure partner brands that resonate with our community, monetize user impressions, drive revenue for our business and bring the game of chess to even more people around the world.”

Playwire has been helping brands reach their target audience and driving revenue growth for publishers since 2007. This partnership with Chess.com marks the latest addition to Playwire’s diverse media portfolio in Gaming, Esports, Entertainment, and Kids.
