Playwire Media is a full-service digital innovation partner that leverages online advertising and proprietary technologies to build publishing brands in the gaming and entertainment verticals.

To keep pace with our explosive growth, we are currently seeking a Lead JavaScript Developer. The Lead JavaScript Developer will aid in the ongoing development and enhancement of products such as our advanced video player and our wide variety of specialized, high-impact advertising units. We want people who are disciplined but also creative, and unafraid to jump into projects that will be seen and used by millions of people. Serious applicants should have experience doing more than just converting mockups into working pages: you should understand what it means to develop a complicated application or widget using JavaScript, select an ideal design pattern, support your work with an automated tests, and work alongside other developers who are contributing code to the same project. You’ll immediately be an important member of a development team with a wide variety of responsibilities and opportunities. This position requires full-time employment; availability at our main office in Boca Raton, FL is preferred, but remote work is a possibility.

Required qualifications:

· Advanced knowledge of JavaScript with a strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals. Must demonstrate ability to write vanilla JavaScript, going beyond framework-dependent development. Must be able to code for high performance.
· Demonstrable knowledge of common design patterns and how they can be applied to JavaScript.
· Demonstrable knowledge of unit testing methodologies, particularly as applied to JavaScript development.
· Experience working with APIs, either integrating a third-party API or creating your own when necessary.
· Experience with HTML5 and CSS3.
· Experience with responsive design and cross-platform scripting for desktop/mobile.
· Facility with source control, particularly git and Github, as used in multi-developer projects.
· Experience participating in code reviews.
· The communications skills and temperament needed to succeed when providing technical leadership and mentorship to other developers.

Nice-to-haves:

· Experience with video for the web, particularly HTML5 video.
· Experience with JavaScript designed to be embedded in third-party Web pages.
· Experience with advertising units, terminology and standards, such as VAST and VPAID.
· Experience with the use of modular JavaScript.
· Experience working in a team using Agile development and project management practices.
· Experience developing for mobile apps and/or OTT devices.
· Experience managing other developers.
· Knowledge of edge computing technologies and use cases.
· Knowledge of data warehousing and processing best practices.
