Something about that spring weather got the Playwire team buzzing in May, and that left us with a lot of product updates to share for both web and app.

Web Updates

The big headline for desktop in May was the release of the web rewarded video ad unit. It’s just like rewarded video for mobile, but it’s for desktop. And it’s pretty great. Learn more about the new unit here.

We also updated our outstream video player behaviors — a change that is already generating much higher page view CPMs in this ads-only video player unit.

Last but not least, we made some big changes to our consent management platform (CMP). Most of the technical adjustments were aimed at making sure we keep the thing fully compliant, but some other changes helped to ensure that the CMP played well with ad blockers and third-party CMPs.
